Prayer and Fasting Times at Poles / Ignorance ? of the North and South Poles claim

Even some asks in sincere, the question of prayer and fasting times at the North and South poles are asked by many to find mistakes in Islam due to the lack of technical information. In Quran, Allah describes the times directing the Sun movements to clarify the times of prayers and fasting.
The statement of “Six months day- six months night” is not actually correct. The correct one is “six months of daylight, six months of dark”. Furthermore, because of the misunderstanding of the situation at the poles, some people think that Sun has no movement and it stands still during 6 months at poles. And they asked “How can we determine the fasting and prayer times at Poles?” This one is absolutely wrong. In the Picture below, you can see the motion of the Sun. At the Poles, the sun always moves during the day; and morning and night periods can be understood easily. The nearest position of  the Sun to the horizon is accepted as night, the top position is accepted as midday.

During the six months of dark, when the Sun is below the horizon, the motion of Sun also can be determined clearly. Prayer and fasting times can be adjusted easily according to that. Today, thousands of muslims in the region are fasting and praying according to those motions.
But, the most important subject that people have ignored so far is Allah wants us to be sincere and piety/taqwa in Quran. For instance, in Quran, Allah orders us about Eid al Adha/sacrifice of animals;
“Their meat will not reach Allah , nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you…” Quran 22/37
It means Allah is not interested in the material parts of our devotions, only piety from us is valuable for him.
“They who are during their prayer humbly submissive.” Quran 23/2
It is useless to search for mistakes and failure in Quran. There is no failure or contradiction in Quran. Quran is absolutely clear, fully detailed, fullfilled in truth and in justince and perfect.

Disappearing or Setting Sun?
The phrase used is ‘magrib-e-shams’ which can also be interpreted as ‘western Sun’ or disappearing Sun’.

The polar regions of the Earth experience a six-month long day followed by a six-month long night. At the North Pole, ‘In summertime, the sun is always above the horizon at the North Pole, circling the Pole once every day. It is highest in the sky at the Summer Solstice, after which it moves closer to the horizon, until it sinks below the horizon, at the Fall Equinox.[5]

Hence, if the North Pole is visited during the few weeks before Fall Equinox, the Sun is in the process of disappearing or setting.

What does the Sun appear to be disappearing in?
‘ainin hamee-atin’ is variously translated as a well or warm spring, or spring with foul fetid mud[6], murky waters, dark mud, and so on.[7]

There is no land at the North Pole. ‘The Arctic consists of ocean that is largely surrounded by land. As such, the climate of much of the Arctic is moderated by the ocean water, which can never have a temperature below −2 °C (28 °F).’ [8]

The lands near the North Pole, in the Arctic Circle, are known for hot springs and geysers, with muddy water spewing out of some[9] [10] [11] [12] [13] However, such places are also there near the South Pole, though perhaps lesser in number or less discovered. [14][15] [16] Therefore, hot springs and geysers may not be a uniquely distinguishing feature of the North Pole from the South Pole. Hence, I’m inclined to think that ‘ainin hamee-atin’ refers to the warm waters of the Arctic Ocean.

Near it he found a people?
The key word is ‘near it’. There are many lands in the Arctic Circle near the Arctic Ocean, where people dwell[17]

Hence, based upon the three key features: disappearing Sunwarm waters and people near it, I think the only place on Earth that exhibits all three features is the North Pole and the region surrounding it, i.e. the Arctic.

[Al-Qur’an 18:89-90] [link21] [89] Then followed he (another) way, [90] Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun.

كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ وَقَدْ أَحَطْنَا بِمَا لَدَيْهِ خُبْرًا

[Al-Qur’an 18:91][link22] So (it was). And We knew all concerning him.

The second place is described by three facts: that the Sun is rising, there are people dwelling there, so it is a land and that there is no protection from the Sun, followed by the claim that ‘We knew all...’.

Appearing or Rising Sun?
When there is Autumn in the Northern hemisphere, it is Spring in the Southern hemisphere.  When the sun finally disappears below the horizon at the North Pole at Autumn Equinox, and the six-month long night starts there, the Sun rises above the horizon at the South Pole, commencing the six-month long day at the South Pole.

People dwelling there? Land?
We know that there is land at the South Pole, i.e. the continent of Antarctica. Though only research teams stay at Antarctica now[23], however, we cannot rule out if people ever did or did not live in the continent of Antarctica.

What do we know about natural protection from the Sun?
We know that the ozone layer in the atmosphere is a natural protection from the Sun’s harmful rays. We also know that every Antarctic spring, there is a large hole formed in the ozone layer over most of Antarctica.

“The Antarctic Ozone Hole was discovered ... Satellite measurements then confirmed that the springtime ozone loss was a continent-wide feature... The ozone hole is formed each year in the Southern Hemisphere spring (September-November) when there is a sharp decline (currently up to 60%) in the total ozone over most of Antarctica.” [24]

“The severe depletion of the Antarctic ozone layer known as the “ozone hole” occurs because of the special atmospheric and chemical conditions that exist there and nowhere else on the globe” [25]

 [26]

The ozone depletion over the North Pole is a recent phenomenon, caused due to ‘human’ reasons. Hence, based upon the three key natural features: rising Sunland and no protection from the Sun, I think the only place on Earth that exhibits all three features is the South Pole and the region surrounding it, i.e. the Antarctic Circle.

ozone

This phenomenon is particularly encountered in the North Pole (Arctic) region, and there is a serious loss of ozone for a few hours immediately after sunrise.
“Until he reached the rising of the sun and found it rising on a people to whom We had not given any shelter from it.” (Al-Kahf 18: 90)
The Arabic word “sitran” in verse 90 of Surat al-Kahf means “cover, shelter, curtain or screen.” The term “lam naj`al lahum min duniha sitran” describes an environment devoid of any shelter or protection against the Sun. In the light of present-day knowledge, this is suggestive of the ozone layer that protects living things against harmful solar rays.
The area where the ozone layer around the Earth is thinnest, where it protects least against solar radiation, is the poles.1 Scientific research has established a severe thinning of the ozone layer at the North Pole at the moment the Sun rises2 and this scientific discovery has been described as Sunrise Ozone Destruction (SOD).3
As a matter of fact, during their research, American scientists determined a rapid decrease in ozone concentration at the moment of sunrise – when there was no sign of any before.4This phenomenon is particularly encountered in the North Pole (Arctic) region, and there is a serious loss of ozone for a few hours immediately after sunrise.5

The Arabic word “matlia” in this verse, meaning the “rising place” of the Sun, may well be a reference to this scientific discovery about the ozone layer. (Allah knows the truth.) The fact that this information, obtained with 20th-century high technology, also appears in such a compatible form in the Qur’an, is yet more proof that the Qur’an is the revelation of our Lord, the One and Only Owner of science and technology.

The Arctic's climate is characterized by cold winters and cool summers. Its precipitation mostly comes in the form of snow and is low, with most of the area receiving less than 50 cm (20 in). High winds often stir up snow, creating the illusion of continuous snowfall. Average winter temperatures can be as low as −40 °C (−40 °F), and the coldest recorded temperature is approximately −68 °C (−90 °F). Coastal Arctic climates are moderated by oceanic influences, having generally warmer temperatures and heavier snowfalls than the colder and drier interior areas. The Arctic is affected by current global warming, leading to Arctic sea ice shrinkage, diminished ice in the Greenland ice sheet, and Arctic methane release as the permafrostthaws.
Due to the poleward migration of the planet's isotherms (about 35 mi (56 km) per decade during the past 30 years as a consequence of global warming), the Arctic region (as defined by tree line and temperature) is currently shrinking.[11] Perhaps the most alarming result of this is arctic sea ice shrinkage. There is a large variance in predictions of Arctic sea ice loss, with models showing near-complete to complete loss in September from 2040 to some time well beyond 2100. About half of the analyzed models show near-complete to complete sea ice loss in September by the year 2100
The Arctic is comparatively clean, although there are certain ecologically difficult localized pollution problems that present a serious threat to people's health living around these pollution sources. Due to the prevailing worldwide sea and air currents, the Arctic area is the fallout region for long-range transport pollutants, and in some places the concentrations exceed the levels of densely populated urban areas. An example of this is the phenomenon of Arctic haze, which is commonly blamed on long-range pollutants. Another example is with the bioaccumulation of PCB's (polychlorinated biphenyls) in Arctic wildlife and people.
Only four million people live north of the Arctic Circle due to the severe climate; nonetheless, some areas have been settled for thousands of years by indigenous peoples, who today make up 10% of the region's population.[6] Tens of thousands of years ago, waves of people migrated from eastern Siberia across the Bering Strait into North America to settle. Much later, in the historic period, there has been migration into some Arctic areas by Europeans and other immigrants.[citation needed]
The largest communities north of the Arctic Circle are situated in Russia and NorwayMurmansk (population 307,257), Norilsk (175,365), Tromsø (71,295) and Vorkuta (59,231). Rovaniemi (61,329) in Finland is the largest settlement in the immediate vicinity of the Arctic Circle, lying 6 kilometres (4 miles) south of the line.
In contrast, the largest North American community north of the Arctic Circle, Sisimiut (Greenland), has approximately 5,000 inhabitants. Of the Canadian and United States Arctic communities, Barrow, Alaska is the largest settlement with about 4,000 inhabitants.

Around the summer solstice (approximately 21 June in the Northern Hemisphere and 22 December in the Southern Hemisphere), the sun is visible for the full 24 hours, given fair weather. The number of days per year with potential midnight sun increases the closer towards either pole one goes. Although approximately defined by the polar circles, in practice the midnight sun can be seen as much as 55 miles (90 km) outside the polar circle, as described below, and the exact latitudes of the farthest reaches of midnight sun depend on topography and vary slightly year-to-year
The polar shortest day is not totally dark everywhere inside the polar circle, but only in places within about 5.5° of the poles, and only when the moon is well below the horizon. Regions located at the inner border of the polar circles experience polar twilight instead of polar night. In fact, polar regions typically get more twilight throughout the year than equatorial regions.

"See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders?" (Surah ar-Rad: 41)
"See they not that we gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders?" (Surah al-Anbiya: 44)
These two verses of the Qur'an mention that the surface of earth has been reduced and diminished from its outlying borders.
Has the surface of earth been reducing from its outlying borders really?
What can be the meaning of this reducing?
What do scientists say about this subject?

According to the information of Nasa, while the Earth's equatorial radius is 6378,5 km, its polar radius is 6357 km. This means a difference of % 0,3. Here, there is an indication of this flattening at poles with the following statements of the Qur'an; "We reduce the land from its outlying borders" and "We diminish the land from its outlying borders". Besides, we also point out to the following issue that there is a statement in the verse as "we gradually reduce" instead of "we reduced"
From this statement, we understand that the process of reducing still continues. If there were a statement in the verse as "we reduced", we could understand that the earth was created in the same shape as it is today. The statement "we gradually reduce" informs us about a formation after a definite process. That is, reducing is still continuing. The following two points which stem from this verse of the Qur'an are in complete conformity with the discoveries of the creation of the earth:
1- There is a reducing at the edges of the earth. In fact, the earth is flattened at poles and bulge at equators. And this reducing still continues as it is stated in the verses.

2- The present earth is different than its first state. There has been a gradual flattening from its edges in the course of time after a process. This occurs as result of the rotation of the earth around its own axis.

The conclusion that stems from the verses of the Qur'an of which we have analyzed is in complete coherence with the scientific discoveries. There is a reference for other scientific truths in the verses apart from these findings.
One of them is that there is a loss of matter around the earth though very little as a result of earth's rotation around its own axis. The statements in the verses as "we reduce" and "we diminish" indicate this loss of matter round the earth. Scientists confirmed this indication of the Qur'an and approved that there is a constant loss of matter around the earth though very little.
Here these verses are also related to the decrease of land from another aspect. The scientists of Goddard Space Science Institute of Manhattan discovered that the level of water had been increasing as a result of the melting of ice sheets at poles. The increased level of water also covers more land. As the coasts of are covered with water, the total surface area or the quantity of land also diminishes. So the statements of the verses as "we reduce" and "we diminish" also indicate the coasts' being covered with water and reducing of land on the earth.

Indigenous peoples have inhabited the Arctic for thousands of years. The proportion indigenous people is estimated to be about 10 percent of total population living in arctic areas. There are over 40 different ethnic groups living in the Arctic.
Arctic indigenous peoples include for example Saami in circumpolar areas of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Northwest Russia, Nenets, Khanty, Evenk and Chukchi in Russia, Aleut, Yupik and Inuit (Iñupiat) in Alaska, Inuit (Inuvialuit) in Canada and Inuit (Kalaallit) in Greenland. All of the above-mentioned countries except Iceland have indigenous peoples living within their Arctic territory. Official statistics do not necessarily recognize indigenous populations separately, although differences occur. The number of indigenous people is not accurate because of the definition of indigenousness.  See the map Demography of indigenous peoples of the Arctic based on linguistic groups.

Arctic areas are inhabited approximately by four million people according to the AHDR (Arctic Human Development Report) definition of the Arctic. The settlement area is divided between eight Arctic countries; Canada, United States, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark. The circumpolar region is extremely sparsely populated. Using more broad definition, according to the University of the Arctic Atlas, there are approximately 13.1 million people living in the area of the circumpolar North, see the map Indigenous population in the Arctic.

2:185 The month of Ramadhan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever witnesses among you the month, then he should fast in it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then prescribed number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and that you complete the period and to magnify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and that you may be grateful.

(If the month is witnessed by a Muslim community, then all of the Muslims should fast)(Just an interpretation: Humans are essentially tropical, clothing and shelters are essential to survive in extreme cold conditions. The Poles are not a good place to settle. You are not obligated to fast on a journey to the Poles)(Allah knows best)

2:183-184 O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, so that you may become righteous. Days numbered. So whoever among you is sick or on a journey, then a prescribed number of days, other. And upon those who can afford it, a ransom of feeding a poor. And whoever volunteers good then it is better for him. And if you fast, it is better for you, if you know.
(Fasting a number of days, not months)(Allah knows best)

2:125 And when We made the House a place of return for mankind and security and "Take the standing place of Abraham, as a place of prayer." And We made a covenant with Abraham and Ishmael, "Purify My House for those who circumambulate, and those who seclude themselves for devotion and prayer and those who bow down and those who prostrate.”
(Designated places for prayer)(Allah knows best)
7:29 Say, "My Lord has ordered justice, and set your faces at every masjid and invoke Him (being) sincere to Him in religion. As He originated you, (so) will you return."
(Designated places for prayer)(Allah knows best)

2:114 And who is more unjust than one who prevents His name from being mentioned in the masajid of Allah, and strives for their destruction? Those, it is not for them that they enter them except (like) those in fear. For them, there is disgrace in the world and a great punishment in the Hereafter.
4:103 Then when you have finished the prayer, then remember Allah standing, and sitting, and on your sides. But when you are secure, then establish prayer. Indeed, prayer is prescribed for the believers at fixed times.
11:114 And establish the prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.
(In the Poles, the sun reaches its highest point (noon) and lowest points (2 ends of the day). So this Verse doesn’t say that there must be a sunrise or sunset for prayer)(Allah knows best)

73:1-6 O you who wraps himself, stand in the night, except for a little, half of it, or lessen from it a little, Or add to it, and recite the Qur’an with measured rhythmic recitation. Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy Word. Indeed, the rising at the night is very hard and most potent and more suitable for Word.
(In regard to six months night, according to this verse, any time during the night can be fixed for prayer)(Allah knows best)

20:30  Therefore be patient with what they say, and celebrate (constantly) the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun, and before its setting; yea, celebrate them for part of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day: that thou mayest have (spiritual) joy.

10:5 He it is who has made the sun a [source of] radiant light and the moon a light [reflected],10 and has determined for it phases so that you might know how to compute the years and to measure [time]. None of this has God created without [an inner] truth.11 Clearly does He spell out these messages unto people of [innate] knowledge:
10 The nouns diya' and nur are often interchangeable, inasmuch as both denote "light"; but many philologists are of the opinion that the term diya' (or daw') has a more intensive connotation, and is used to describe "a light which subsists by itself, as that of the sun and fire" - that is, a source of light - while nur signifies "a light that subsists by some other thing" (Lane V, 1809, on the authority of Taj al-'Arus ): in other words, light due to an extraneous source or - as in the case of the moon - reflected light.
91:1 CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, (2) and the moon as it reflects the sun!1 (3) Consider the day as it reveals the world,2 (4) and the night as it veils it darkly!
1 Lit., "as it follows it (talaha)", i.e., the sun. According to the great philologist Al-Farra, who lived in the second century after the hijrah, "the meaning is that the moon derives its light from the sun" (quoted by Razi). This is also Raghib's interpretation of the above phrase.
28:71 Say: "Have you ever considered [this]: If God had willed that there should always be night about you, without break, until the Day of Resurrection - is there any deity other than God that could bring you light?76 Will you not, then, listen [to the truth]?" 28:72 Say: "Have you ever considered [this]: If God had willed that there should always be daylight about you, without break, until the Day of Resurrection - is there any deity other than God that could bring you [the darkness of] night, wherein you might rest? Will you not, then, see [the truth]?"77
28:73 For it is out of His grace that He has made for you the night and the day, so that you might rest therein as well as seek to obtain [what you need] of His bounty: and [He gave you all this] so that you might have cause to be grateful
25: 45) ART THOU NOT aware of thy Sustainer (through His works]? - how He causes the shadow to lengthen [towards the night] when, had He so willed, He could indeed have made it stand still: but then, We have made the sun its guide; (25:46) and then, [after having caused it to lengthen,] We draw it in towards Ourselves38 with a gradual drawing-in.
25:47 And He it is who makes the night a garment for you, and [your] sleep a rest, and causes every [new] day to be a resurrection. (25:48) And He it is who sends forth the winds as a glad tiding of His coming grace; and [thus, too,] We cause pure water to descend from the skies, (25:49) so that We may bring dead land to life thereby, and give to drink thereof to many [beings] of Our creation, beasts as well as humans.
(55:17) [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset.7 (55:18) Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow?
73:20 BEHOLD, [O Prophet,] thy Sustainer knows that thou keepest awake [in prayer] nearly twothirds of the night, or one-half of it, or a third of it, together with some of those who follow thee.11 And God who determines the measure of night and day, is aware that you would never grudge it:12 and therefore He turns towards you in His grace. Recite, then, as much of the Qur'an as you may do with ease. He knows that in time there will be among you sick people, and others who will go about the land in search of God's bounty, and others who will fight in God's cause.13 Recite, then, [only] as much of it as you may do with ease, and be constant in prayer, and spend in charity,14 and [thus] lend unto God a goodly loan: for whatever good deed you may offer up in your own behalf, you shall truly find it with God - yea, better, and richer in reward. And [always] seek God's forgiveness: behold, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace!
73:1 O THOU enwrapped one!1 (2) Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part (3) of onehalf thereof2 - or make it a little less than that, (4) or add to it [at will]; and [during that time] recite the Qur'an calmly and distinctly, with thy mind attuned to its meaning.3 (5) Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message (6) [and,] verily, the hours of night the mind most strongly and speak with the clearest voice,4 (7) whereas by day a long chain of doings is thy portion.
32;15 ONLY THEY [truly] believe in Our messages who, whenever they are conveyed to them, fall down, prostrating themselves in adoration, and extol their Sustainer's limitless glory and praise; and who are never filled with false pride; (32:16) [and] who are impelled to rise14 from their beds [at night] to call out to their Sustainer in fear and hope; and who spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance.

'' The Poles are not a good place to settle, but it is not forbidden to fast or pray there)(It is also said that Muslims follow the fasting hours in the nearest city where fasting is observed at dawn and sunset. Alternatively, Muslims may follow Mecca time ''

How can you fast in the poles if sunrise to sunset takes months? Also how do you pray if there is a sunrise and sunset that takes 6 months?
